In the long term, only sustainable production, processing and marketing of foodstuffs will secure nutrition and satisfy consumers and producers. FoodBerlin is committed to this ultimate goal. As a research and innovation network, it seeks dialogue with producers and stakeholders in order to identify future nutritional trends as they emerge in Berlin as an international metropolis and to translate them into innovative concepts for action. Effective research to improve our nutritional systems is carried out at the interfaces between disciplines. This is why FoodBerlin initiates and supports interdisciplinary collaborative projects as well as joint research projects and makes it easier for members to access international funding programmes. The rapid development of the food sector requires experts who know international trends in the production, processing and marketing of foodstuffs and who can design new concepts. FoodBerlin communicates this expertise and coordinates teaching and training. Through FoodBerlin, members offer their advisory competence and contribute to the higher public visibility of the topic.
